The Commander

Zippo Pocket Screwdriver
Picking up a challenge from Laura Kampf, where she turned her Zippo lighter into a bit holder, we went one step further and turned an old Zippo into a pocket screwdriver. Check out our video to see the full story!
Socket Hand
This is a sculpture of Henri’s hand, made out of discarded sockets and welded together. The stand that the hand is mounted to is actually a piece of pipe discarded by an auto shop, and fashioned to look like a large socket. The entire piece was chromed to protect it for years to come.
Motorcycle Wall Art
This wall sculpture was hand bent out of round metal bar, welded and personalized with Henri’s own name. He’s made so many pieces for other people, he wanted to do one for himself!
Setting Sun Wall Sculpture
This wall sculpture was made out of old files, nails and a piece of chain from a tractor that was re-purposed into a piece of art. Everything was welded together to symbolize the setting sun. This piece has special meaning for us, because all the items came from Henri’s great grandfather’s farm in Wisconsin.
Metal Hibiscus
Henri’s first attempt at making a metal flower, resulted in what you see here. The blobs of weld on the base is a technique that he came up with to represent dirt.
Metal Sunflower
Here is another example of one of Henri’s welding projects. Because we don’t see many Sunflowers in our neck of the woods, Henri made one that never needs watering or sunlight.
Key To My Heart
Warning: This piece contains a corny and sentimental description!
Henri says that Paula holds the key to his heart, so he wanted to make a sculpture to represent that. Awww ain’t that sweet?
