Clocks

Laser Disc Clock

We found an old movie laser disc at a resale shop, and thought it would make a cool looking clock. We drilled holes in the disc, added some color changing LEDs, and then attached a clock mechanism we got from our local hobby store. Check out the video to see how we did it!

Glass Wall Clock

We had a glass Lazy Susan from our old deck table that we couldn’t bear to throw away. We finally found a use for it! Click on the button below to see our video on how we transformed it!

Gear Clock

We took a gear from an old washing machine transmission, cleaned off the grease, polished it up, added a clock mechanism and welded a bracket to it to hold our business cards. Functional and cool looking!

‘Dream’ Clock

We found an old clock at a garage sale, and wanted to jazz it up. Henri painted the background using acrylic paints, and created different representations for each of the numbers. The sun at the top of course signifies 12, but look closely to see if you can spot how the other numbers are shown.

Metal Dome Clock

We repurposed the shade from an old and broken torchiere floor lamp, sand blasted off the old paint, used rivets to represent the numbers, added flooring nails to the center for decoration and then used a clock mechanism from another clock. We made the hands ourselves using flat sheet metal, and then bent them in a curve to match the curve of the metal. We sprayed it with clear varnish to protect the metal from rusting, and to give it a nice shiny finish.

Record Clock

We found a copy of this classic Rolling Stones record at a resale shop, and wanted to make a special gift for a family member. We cut out the numbers using our vinyl cutter, created a textured look to the record, and attached it to an old clock we found at a garage sale. We painted the hands to match the numbers, which finishes this piece off perfectly.

Scrap Metal Clock

This clock was made entirely of scrap metal pieces we had in our shop. A simple and fun project!

Movie Disc Clock

Here is another clock that we made, using a movie laser disc. For the background, we used the sleeve from the laser disc, and cut out the shapes to match the curve of the clock. Then we glued the shapes to the back of the clock. This would make a great gift for the Star Wars fan!

Turn Table Clock

We took an old record player and one of Henri’s Johnny Cash albums and turned it into a unique clock!
